Happy New Year to everyone! As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to host our third homeless event. This year, we brought together seven school districts: Texas, Arkansas, Pleasant Grove, Liberty Eylau, Redwater, Fouke, and Genoa, with 126 students participating in a life-changing experience. By partnering with three incredible homeless shelters—Mission Texarkana, Randy Sams, and the Salvation Army—we were able to transform lives. Thanks to the generous donations, the students delivered 200 essential needs bags.
Between 2022 and 2024, we quietly donated over 1,700 new coats to our local school districts and shelters. In just 2024, we made a significant impact with the donation of 940 coats, broken down as follows:
- Texarkana Independent School District 222 coats
- Arkansas High School 150 coats
- Mission Texarkana, Inc.Randy Sams Outreach ShelterThe Salvation Army of Texarkana 240 coats
- Liberty-Eylau ISD 93 coats
- Genoa Central Schools 55 coats
- Redwater ISD 50 coats
- Fouke High Panthers 45 coats

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the dedicated instructors and counselors from these schools. Their collaboration with JLK has been essential in providing support for events such as the homeless initiative, coat distribution, community closets, and emergent care for students in need. Together, we are making a positive impact in our community! A heartfelt thank you to the shelter operations personnel, they are true light bearers, educating the students on avoiding the darkness.
We deeply appreciate the commitment of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to bring goodness to every child. Your efforts are truly making a difference!
